Latest CCPC Research Shows Why Shopping Local Is the Safer Choice
Black Friday Pressure, Impulse Buys & Regret
New CCPC research ahead of Black Friday 2025 highlights just how much pressure shoppers face during big online sales. Two-thirds of consumers don’t trust advertised discounts, and 60% of those who made an unplanned sale purchase later regretted it. Countdown timers and urgency tactics continue to drive rushed decisions.
It’s a strong reminder that local shopping supports smarter, calmer decision-making — and your community benefits too.
Impulse Buys and Influencers
The CCPC findings show that limited-time offers strongly influence purchasing decisions. On top of that, almost 1 in 3 people have bought something after seeing a sale promoted by an influencer . Shopping locally avoids this online pressure, giving you space to choose what you genuinely need.
Better for the Climate
With 84% of intending Black Friday shoppers planning to buy online , delivery emissions and excess packaging increase significantly. Choosing local businesses reduces transport miles, waste, and your overall carbon footprint.
Supporting Local Jobs
Every euro spent locally helps maintain employment, strengthens small businesses, and keeps money circulating within the community. At a time when global retailers dominate the digital space, local support matters more than ever.
Clear Pricing, Less Stress
The report also shows that most shoppers do not check online return and two-thirds don’t trust the accuracy of sale price claims. Local retailers provide transparent pricing, easy returns, and real conversations — no fine print or hidden charges.
Shop Local This Season
Shopping locally helps you spend wisely, reduces regret, lowers your environmental impact, and supports the businesses that support your community.
