Synergy Credit Union is Now JAM Card Friendly
At Synergy Credit Union, we’re proud to announce that we are now an official JAM Card Friendly organisation. This means our staff have been trained to recognise and support people with invisible disabilities who may need a little extra time, patience, or understanding.
By becoming JAM Card Certified, we’re continuing our commitment to making financial services more inclusive, respectful and community-focused.
What Is a JAM Card?
The JAM Card (which stands for “Just A Minute”) is a simple, discreet way for people with learning difficulties, autism, sensory sensitivities, or communication barriers to indicate that they may need a little more time in public or customer service settings.
Available as a free physical card or mobile app, it helps remove anxiety and promotes calm, respectful interactions. The JAM Card is already embraced by over 1,800 businesses and 85,000 users worldwide, including many credit unions across Ireland.
How to Get a JAM Card (Card or App)
Whether you prefer a traditional card or a smartphone option, getting a JAM Card is free and easy.

- Visit the official JAM Card website
- Choose your message (e.g., “Please be patient, I have autism”)
- Fill in your details—no diagnosis is required
- Your card will be posted to you free of charge

- Available for iOS and Android devices
- Download on the App Store
- Get it on Google Play
With the app, you can:
- Customise and display your message discreetly
- Use the geolocation tool to find JAM Card Friendly locations—including Synergy Credit Union branches
- Leave feedback and reviews on your experience
