Current Account for 12 years old +
All members from aged 12 can now open a Current Account, no fees for students.
Did you know that Juvenile members aged 12 years and over can now open a current account in their own name ?
- Members aged 12, 13 14 and 15 can now open a current account with parental consent.
- Members aged 16 and 17 do not now need parental consent to open their own Current Account.
- All members who are full-time students are not charged fees on their current account.
The above members will receive their own Mastercard® Debit Card that is contactless and that is Apple Pay Google Pay and Fitbit Pay enabled which means that it can used on a smart phone, smart watch or Fitbit device.
Opening a Current account for your child allows you:
To teach your child how to earn, spend and save money with their own debit card.
- To pay pocket money or money earned from chores or other work directly into their current account.
- Your child can now pay safely in shops or online with their own contactless Mastercard®.
- You can deposit funds into your child’s account online, in one or our branches or by direct debit.
- A safe way to give your child money if they are going to an event or another occasion.

What documentation do you need to open a Current Account for your child aged 12 to 15?
The Juvenile aged 12 to 15:
• Proof of Identity - A current passport, if available or otherwise your child’s birth Cert.
• Proof of Address required - Letter from School/Bank statement in your child’s name , dated within the past 6 months - if this is not available, a utility bill/bank statement in the parents/guardian’s name is required (Not more than 6 months old).
• PPS number: The applicants PPS number on any document.
The Parent or Guardian of the Juvenile opening a current account is a member:
If the parent is an existing member, we will review the documentation on file to ensure that it is up to date and correct, but it is good practice to bring in with you the following to avoid any delay.
• Proof of Identity - A current Passport or Drivers Licence.
• Proof of address - A current utility bill/Bank statement (not more than 6 months old).
• Proof of the PPS Number - on any official documentation
If you the Parent or the Guardian are not a member of the Credit Union
You can open a current account for your child even if you are not a member of the Credit Union. We would love you to join and reap the benefits of a locally owned financial institution. It is not obligatory for you to become a member.
• Proof of Identity - Current Passport OR Drivers Licence.
• Proof of Address - Current Utility Bill/ Bank Statement/ Letter from Government Department (dated within the last 6 months).
• Proof of PPSN.
