Synergy Credit Union Educational Bursary Awards 2025
Each year, Synergy Credit Union awards one educational bursary to a member starting a full-time third-level course or registered apprenticeship. The bursary offers €2,500 in the first year and €1,000 per year for up to three subsequent years (max €5,500). Not a Member - You can join and Apply at the same time. Payments are made annually at the start of each academic year and are subject to continued full-time enrolment. Closing Date is 30th September 2025 for applications.
How To Get Started
If you’re starting your first year of a full-time third-level course or registered apprenticeship in Autumn 2025, you could be eligible for our Educational Bursary—worth up to €5,500 over four years. To apply, simply complete the online application form, send in or be in a position to show proof of acceptance of offer (e.g., CAO or apprenticeship offer), and submit a short personal statement (max 200 words).

Applications are assessed by a panel based on merit, motivation, ambition, and the quality of your personal statement. One successful applicant will receive €2,500 in their first year and €1,000 annually for up to three additional years, subject to continued full-time enrolment.

No, you don’t need to send it with your application. However, if you are selected as the winner, you will be required to provide proof that you are enrolled in a full-time third-level course or apprenticeship before the bursary is awarded. you can forward if you wish to p.morrissey@synergycu.ie

Your personal statement (max 200 words) should explain why you deserve the bursary, outline your future goals, describe how the bursary would help you achieve them, and share any challenges you’ve faced or expect to face.
All applications are reviewed by a selection panel based on merit, motivation, ambition, and the overall quality of the personal statement. Only one bursary is awarded each year. The winner is announced before the 10th of October each year.
