Our Story

The Credit Union Difference
Established in 1965, Synergy Credit Union is proud of its heritage and continues to be governed by our members and voluntary Board of Directors.
Strength in Numbers. Better together
Our story began back in November 1965 when group of community spirited people came together, to form what was to be called “The Fermoy Civic Action Group “. This group had three main aims, to set up a Public swimming pool, to set up a Toastmasters group and to set up a Credit Union. Through the active encouragement of the Fermoy Civic Action group, the first meeting of the new Credit Union was held in the Courthouse on November 15th, 1965.
Today we provide over 19,000 members with highly competitive loan rates, savings services and other financial services. We are a modern member-driven financial co-operative owned by our members and we are driven by a passionate and genuine desire to enrich our members’ lives.
